Important Update: The Parking Lot and Skylight Replacement project will begin this Monday, August 24. The new skylights will let more light into the main room, help control indoor temperature, and reduce outside noise. The new parking lot will fix drainage issues, be easier to maintain, add accessible parking spots, and improve the library's overall appearance. With portions of both our parking lot and skylights dating back almost 30 years, we're excited to finally give them the upgrade they deserve.

The parking lot project will bring a new surface and base, catch basin repairs, expanded and reconfigured accessible parking spaces for greater availability, updated outdoor lighting in some areas, and a reconfiguration of the north lot in response to the Route 31 expansion. Inside, our rooftop skylights will be replaced, bringing refreshed natural light to the spaces you love.

Timeline: Both projects will take place at the same time, with the parking lot portion expected to take approximately eight weeks and the skylight replacement approximately three weeks. The start date will be announced mid-summer, so stay tuned!

Planning Your Visit: Our plan is to keep the library open and accessible throughout construction. Some things to keep in mind:

• Parking Lot and Outdoor Material Returns: Park only in designated areas during the parking lot project; signage will guide you. Allow extra time when visiting, especially for programs and events. The outdoor material return may be unavailable at certain times during the project, so please watch for signs directing you to alternate return locations.

• Collection Access: Some collection areas may be temporarily unavailable while skylight work is taking place directly above. Please ask a staff member for help retrieving materials from any closed areas.

• Noise: Skylight replacement may increase noise in parts of the building.

• Stay Informed: Check our website for full details and follow us on social media for real-time updates throughout both projects.

These projects are funded entirely from the library's capital improvement fund. We appreciate your patience as we invest in a safer, more efficient, and more inviting library for everyone.

¡Mejoras en la biblioteca vienen pronto!

Actualización importante: El proyecto de renovación del estacionamiento y la instalación de tragaluces comenzará este lunes 24 de agosto. Los nuevos tragaluces permitirán la entrada de más luz a la sala principal, ayudarán a controlar la temperatura interior y reducirán el ruido exterior. El nuevo estacionamiento solucionará los problemas de drenaje, facilitará el mantenimiento, añadirá plazas de aparcamiento accesibles y mejorará el aspecto general de la biblioteca. Con áreas del estacionamiento y tragaluces que han durado casi 30 años, estamos emocionados de darles las actualizaciones que merecen.

El proyecto del estacionamiento incluirá una nueva superficie y base, reparaciones en los desagües pluviales, la ampliación y reconfiguración de los espacios de estacionamiento accesibles para mayor disponibilidad, la actualización de la iluminación exterior en algunas áreas y la reconfiguración del estacionamiento norte en respuesta a la ampliación de la Ruta 31. En el interior, se reemplazarán los tragaluces en el techo, lo que aportará una luz natural renovada a los espacios que tanto aprecia.

Planeando tu visita: Está planeado mantener la biblioteca abierta y accesible durante la construcción. Unas cosas que debe saber
