Search for an item using our Catalog
1. Search by Keyword, Title, Author, Subject or Series. Just enter your search terms. MPLD is the default library in the drop-down menu. Note: for a DVD, put the title in quotes.
2. Advanced Search
Once you enter your search terms, you can limit your search by checking various boxes, or "facets," along the left-hand side of the page.
3. Search All Libraries
You can also check the drop-down above the search limits called "All Member Libraries," and the catalog will search for the item in all libraries in our consortium (24 currently).
Place Holds using our Catalog
You have to be logged in to your library account to place a hold on an item(s).
When viewing your search results, click on the blue "Place Hold" button to the right of the item to place a hold. Enter your library card number and password. The default password is the word "patron."
If we don't have the item, the system will choose it from a library in our system that does have it available for delivery. You will be notified by phone (or email if you signed up for this service) when your item is available for pickup here at MPLD.
You'll have 7 days to pick up the item. IF YOU DON'T PICK IT UP WITHIN THAT TIME FRAME, YOUR ACCOUNT WILL BE CHARGED $1 (PER ITEM NOT PICKED UP).
Note: If you can't wait for the item to be delivered and don't mind going to another library to pick it up, click the drop-down menu under "Only Show Available” to see which libraries in our system have the item on their shelves.
